"The Church in The Gap" - A financial miracle

It was with gloom that we spent much time as a church board, agonising over the financial position that we found ourselves in. It was not financial mismanagement, nor poor stewardship, but a decrease in income over four months that placed us in a tight spot as a church.

Thursday the 14^th December 2000.

With the increase of our rental contract about to go up by 20%, the picture did not look good. Yet there was this one thing. God had promised us through prophesy and Holy Spirit to make a way this year [2000] with financial input into the church. We were in the 11th hour and desperate. We moved a resolution that if nothing changed in the two weeks [by 29^th December 2000], that we would hand in our 3 months notice on this facility and believe God to open other doors as far as a facility goes. We got desperate and desperate in our prayers. God began been speaking to us in our prayer meetings that crisis produces an urgency in us that causes us to cry out to God. The essence of what God was saying was that crisis in our lives caused us to press in to God but God wants us to be like that all the time.

We began crying out to God for His intervention, God came through in the 11^th hour.

Thursday the 20^th December 2000

A business man phones me and tells me that he and his wife have been praying and feel that God is leading them to give the church finances for the rent. The amount - Au$30 000.00. Enough for the whole of the facility rent for 2001.

Thursday the 27^th December 2000

The bank confirms the deposit. We pay the full amount due for our rent for the facilities. It is out of crisis that God moves so that no man may receive the glory that belongs to God. God always comes through in the 11^th hour. I believe that He does that so that we may know His sovereignty over our lives and over His church.
