About 2 years ago:
One day I have noticed a brown, five cents size dot on my right shoulder, but I thought this was something similar to what my father had, and that was just fatty tissue.
Early June 2000:
My wife said to me one day, I should go to a doctor to cut it out, because it doesn’t look nice. So I made an appointment with the GP, and she said she didn’t know what it was, so she couldn't take it out just now. (I expected to walk out with a small cut, and forget it.)
I went to see a specialist surgeon, who the GP referred me to.
The specialist said he didn’t exactly know what it is, but better take it out soon, and then we will know more.
He booked me in for a small surgery with local anaesthetic to a hospital.
I was not afraid, small surgery and then everything back to normal!
A week after the surgery I was due back to see the specialist for removing the stitches.
I went to his room, took my shirt off, and waited for him to come and remove the stitches.
He arrived shortly, and said to me, that he won't take the stitches out today. (Surprise)
"Why not?", I asked. He said the pathology report came back and it is diagnosed as DERMATO FIBROSARCOMA (Cancerous tumor). "We don’t know how big it is, and how big the area it has affected, but it is life threatening."
He booked me in immediately for a surgery with general anaesthetic. I was shocked with the news. I thought I am only 32yo, and my wife is pregnant, I did not believe that this is the time God wants me back. I prayed, and many of our friends prayed as well. God gave me a peace in my heart, a special peace, I have not experienced this before. I did not worry, I trusted God. I did not look at the circumstances, even though I could have been dead tomorrow. Life had a different meaning for me. No matter how healthy you are, you could be diagnosed tomorrow with something which could take over your life, before you even notice it.
I was waiting in my hospital bed before they rolled me into the theatre, and it was actually scary that I did not have any fear. Just the peace of God in me.
A couple of days later the pathology report came back negative, so no more cancer left.
I had three weeks recovery at home, and now after the operation I am back to normal.
I still have a scar on my shoulder, but it reminds me of how much God loves, and cares for me and my family.
